Macys is definately THE place to go.

You can spend the day in there, probably more and get everything under one roof. Make sure you go to the Customer Services desk and ask for map. Point out you're from the UK and they give you a 10% off card and a free bag.

I picked up jeans from Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Donan Karan for around £22 each - that was full price out there!

I'd really recommend a stop at a Dwayne Reed as well. It's the USA equivalent of Superdrug and they're on every corner. On their shelves are what we class as designer beauty products for bargain prices (Tigi styling gel here, £14. Over there £3.50!). They also sell intensive versions of skin care that you can't get in the UK. Even basics like Neutrogena skin care have more potent versions on American shelves. All for a couple of quid!

Go shop girl! You'll save a fortune!

PS - Macy's also do a great burger and fries!

Hi, I went to New York last Christmas and New Year. You need to go to Maceys. When you go there go to customer services with some identification and ask them for a discount card. They give them out. I brought two pairs of CK jeans two jumpers(CK). All for about £55. By going to maceys you will see all the other big stores. Maceys is massive so allow most of the day to get round it.

New York is amazing. It has everything. You can buy inexpensive clothes from H & M or go to a store like Bergdorfs and buy top quality. It's amazing because of all the varieties you have to choose from!

New York is definitely a GREAT place for shopping! I just got back from Manhattan. You should probably try to avoid places that attract tourists ( the Time Square area ) because the prices are EXTREMELY expensive, considering the tourists will buy anything because they don't know any better............ So I hope you have fun on your trip!

oh ya i suggest you visit Canal Street and buy some great bags and jewelry. I bought my coach bag and Tiffany necklace there.......AND THEY TURNED OUT TO BE REAL!

While in NY yesterday, I noticed, as usual, that every other store is a clothing store. They even sell clothes at stands on thde street. You could find all types of clothes in the village and for all different prices too. This time of year, stores are liquidating their summer clothes and you could get them for a real steal.

NYC offers better value than London, like Levis for $50. Also there are up and coming designers in SoHo and TriBeCa that offer innovative items.
