it is all about money; it is cheaper to eliminate the PS2 connections. Dell sells cheap, it is the walmart of computers, they cut corners to reduce costs and to be honest you couldnt build it for what dell sells them for. I have a dell it is a piece of garbage even though it was $1100 it is made cheaply, ; i used it for a few eeks had all kinds of trouble so it sits on the floor unused; I built a new one myself I am very pleased with it, but I couldnt build it for what dell sells them for. the happiness of a bargain soon fades when the reality of poor quality sets in.

Hi, Dell does not ship any PS/2 Ports for the keyboard and mouse and also no parallel port for the Printer etc. This is because new Dell systems are shipped with 3 USB ports on the back of the system tower and 2 USB ports on the front. You can use USB to parallel converter or USB to PS/2 convertor for these systems. Dell has designed these sysetm with 6 USB ports because nowadays USB devices are more in use and customers sometimes connect 3 or more devices to the system tower at one time.
I hope I provided you some logical reason. :)
