I didn't set up my computer. I have SBC Yahoo DSL. Do I need that particular disk? I have recovery disks & I've done this before.

If you are using Windows XP try this first.

Left click on Start
Left click on All Programs
Left click on Accessories
Move mouse pointer over System Tools
Left click on System Restore

Follow the instructions and pick a restore date when you did not have the problems you are now having.

Good Luck

u jus have to insert the operating system's cd(e.g. windows) and go to the bios setting by pressing the "del" at the time of start up and change the setting to "boot from cd".. By default the setting will show "boot from harddisk".. then save the settings and restart ur comp wit the cd inside itself.. click ok or next whereever necessary.. then it'll ask to create partitions.. jus create ur c,d,e and f drive partitions by clickin on new partition and click install... it'll now format first and then only install.. u can take out the cd when u've installed it..

details:
1) goto to the boot order setting and change the boot device to "cdrom". Save and exit.
2) u have to format.. there's no ther choice.
3) insert ur windows or any os cd and restart ur computer.
4) it'll ask for certain things to be filled which i think u can manage..
5) when u go to the partition part, delete the old "c" partition and u'll see the entire size of the remaining space..
6) click on new, type the name "c" allot some space for it, and then ok..
7) keep doing the same for the other partitions like d,e, and f till all the remaining space gets filled..
8) then click on ok to install the os..
9ur partioning is done..
10) i'm jus givin u a rough idea of the picture.. all other things can be done b any user..
All the best..
u have any doubts, plz feel free to contact me..

First, you'll need either your restore disc that you got with your computer. You can get that from your computer maker's web site for about $20. if you still have your OS CD, you can pop that in and run it. It'll wipe your hard drive and install the OS.
