well i guess this is a car you wanna keep, cause it would be cheaper to get another car but if you want to do this
a paint job is only as good as the prep and bodywork so stay clear of earl shibe and macco, most body shops Will want to see the car so that's hard to say,i paint at my shop and it can go anywhere from 800 to 2000 depending on damage and color changes, door jambs ect.
a new motor also depends on the car most new engines from advance or autozone will run you from 800 to 2500 depending on the car, best choice in this case if you want to save money is to check a salvage yard and get a low millage engine out of a wrecked car -get it- bad car=good engine.
the stereo is a whole can of worms do you want just a CD player and 4 speakers or do you want to rattle the windows of other cars, either way this can go from 2-300 or 1-3000 depends on you preference

Cheaper to buy a new car.

But who am I to preach. I painted my car twice, put a $2,500 engine in it and bought a $60.00 stereo. I have owned the car since 1992!
