I enjoy the earlier films like carry on constable and Carry on sergeant. As time went on they became too slapstick and started to lose their appeal. Apparantly, they were gonna bring back the franchise and make a new one. Sources (which I don't remember who) said Barry from Eastenders was gonna be in it. This was a while back so don't know what became of it. I think they pulled the plug on the idea.

Too right. One of the best films I know is still Carry On... Up the Khyber. I suppose it is just a reflection on some of the humour I was brought up with in the house. Despite the fact my dad is a sophisticated man he still likes a damn good chuckle at a Carry on...and it got passed on to us. It is totally harmless stuff and you criticise a line like:Captain Keene: Fire at will!
Brother Belcher: Poor old Will, why do they always fire at him?
or just the name The Khasi of Kalabar and you are just being uppity.

Oh I love em... Sid James is fantastic and the rest of the crew are great. I've seen; Carry on Jack, Carry on Cleo, Carry on Screamin', Carry on Spying and Carry on Cowboy. But there are LOADS more that must be as fantastic as the ones I've seen already.

Carry on screaming is a lot better than most of them.

No longer - except perhaps die-hard fans of the Series, who are still out there!
The series deteriorated as the list of films grew.

Not really, they're very predictable and naff. The actors don't really seem to be relishing doing them either and it looks like they're just there for the money because they haven't been offered more serious roles in other things.
