Jecht is The main characters dad, aka sin. And Ive got so far please help. I will pick best answer out of the ppl who help

I can tell you what I did. My main team was Tidus, Yuna, and Auron. Set Yuna's overdrive gauge to healer and everyone else to either warrior or stoic.
As for the battle. Have Yuna constantly use pray as team maintenance. Also use barrier and shell. Have Tidus use Hastega, trust me it will come in handy.
For the first part of the battle, don't attack the Final Aeon. Instead knock out the towers next to him so he can't recover. Now throw everything you have at him, keeping Yuna as the team medic. If Jecht uses his overdrive, barrier/ shell will soften the blow. Switch someone for Rikku and use an Al Bhed potion, 1 or 2 of these should bring you back on track.
Now the fight gets fun, as Jecht will pull a sword from his chest. By now Yuna should have hit her overdrive. Now use Grand Summon to summon either Bahamut or Anima. Now use Mega Flare/ Oblivion which will either kill him or severely weaken him. Finish him off and now you enter the next stage of battle.
You must fight every aeon you've collected. They aren't too hard. A few hard hits willl knock em out. Yu Yevon is extremly easy if you have the right move. If you have Zombie Strike this fight won't last 5 mins. He'll cure himself in which you use curaga or life on him, which will instantly kill him. Game Over, you win. Though the ending won't be too happy.

If your having problems with this battle then you have obviously not levelled up enough. By the time I got here I knocked him off in a couple of minutes with no effort. I suggest you go back and build yourself up, perhaps slaughter a few dark aeons first, then nothing will pose a problem.

just level up. i don't remember it being that difficult. now if you're talking about doing jecht's move on the ship, that was tough as hell and i spent many attempts at it. good luck!
