23x-12=3x+10
ok so get both x's on the same side, so the equation becomes:
23x-12-3x=10
when u move a number or something to the other side of an equal sign, the sign changes. if its positive, it changes to negative. and if its negative, it changes to positive. so thats why the 3x became -3x.
so now u reduce the equation:
23x-12-3x=10
20x-12=10
now you want to get x by itself on 1 side of the equation sign. so to do that, ur going to hafta move 12 to the other side.
20x-12=10
20x=10+12
20x=22
now to find x, u hafta divide both sides by 20 so x can b by itself and then u can find the value of x
20x=22
20x/10=22/20
x=11/10 or 1.1
in school, ur teachers are going to make u check ur work, so to check if ur answer's right, u replace each x with the answer you got. so in this problem, u would replace it with 1.1.
23x-12=3x+10
23(1.1)-12=3(1.1)+10
13.3=13.3
and since both sides equal the same, then u got the right answer. =)
if u still dont get it tho, dont worry. bcuz u'll learn it from ur teacher again. and the teacher can probably explain it better and she can actually help u in person. lol.
well have fun in 7th. i'm going into 8th, and so far in my life, 7th grade has been the best year EVER! lol. so have funnnn! =)

Just do the same to both sides of the equation and get x on it's own.
23x - 12 = 3x + 10
Add 12
23x = 3x + 22
Minus 3x
20x = 22
Divide by 20
x= 1.1

23x-12=3x+10 is the same as 23x-3x=10+12, which is the same as 20x=22, so x=22/20, or 1 1/10

Step 1: Subtract 3x from both sides.
Step 2: Add 12 to both sides.
Step 3: Divide both sides by 20.
Step 4: Simplify 22/20.
Step 5: Substitute 11/10 back into the original problem to make sure it is correct.

The equation
23x - 12 = 3x + 10
-3x -3x
Subtract -3x from both sides
20 x - 12 = 10
+ 12 + 12
Add + 12 to both sides
20x = 22
20x/20 = 22/20
Dividing 20 from both sides
x = 22/20
x = 1.1
Insert 1.1 in the x position in the equation
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Proof
23(1.1) - 12 = 3(1.1) + 10
25.3 - 12 = 3.3 + 10
13.3 = 13.3

23x-12=3x+10
(+12)23x-12=3x+10(+12)
23x = 3x +22
(-3x)23x = (-3x)3x +22
20x=22
20x / 20 = 22/20
x=1.1
or 11/10
Hope that helps!

You have to get the x's on one side.
23X=3x+10+12.
23X=3x+22
23X-3X=22
20X=22
x=11

while i grew to become into in seventh grade, anybody took Algebra one. in case you desire to income for it, bypass forward, yet i don't think of it is particularly all that arduous. needless to say, i've got been by way of all those courses, so i'm not precisely questioning like a beginner. in basic terms understand that algebra has letters that ensue of numbers, and you could desire to make certain what selection it is that the letter is representing. Like a puzzle. for example, a topic could look like x - 2 = 4. you could could desire to look for x. The extra durable the algebra point, the extra stepped forward the subject.
