I am a normal-sized 12 year old and I can't even fit into a size XL in Kohl's junior shirts! It makes me feel REALLY fat, but I know I'm not, please help!

maybe you are picking out shirts that have a small cut- sometimes the cut is made for older teens with more curves (i.e. goes in at the waist and out at the hips...) so try looking for shirts that have more of a "straight" cut at the sides.

I think it's just the trend. Also I'm sure that those XL shirts actually fit you, they are just meant to be small and tight, not hanging at all. They've started making girls clothes smaller and boys clothes larger. I have a 14yo girl and an 11yo boy so I have seen this. A shirt for her is tiny possibly fitting my 5yo daughter, while his shirts are HUGE like they could fit a man.

Just the fashion these days. Tiny tight clothes for girls, big baggy clothes for boys.

i know how that feels. different brands run in diff sizes you could fit into a 12 in kholes and have it really be a 10 at say walmart. i was big back in the day til i hit purberty. i think the reason why tho is because of fashion because everyones perception of beauty alot of the times is to be a size 4 or something when curves are beautiful too. i know its hard for me to buy tanks and stuff because they make them so long now and my hip bones stick out alot so if i have anything meat on the sides well then i look bigger then i am. i would say try walmart or american eagle actually, they have some nice clothes, tho i think they cost too much at times, but they have sizes for everyone. but yea walmart and stuff they usually have some decent things

It's because of this image, every girl likes to look like a total hoe. So, they figure if that's what sells, they're gonna supply it. It's not you at all, trust me, you're 12 years old, YOU ARE NOT FAT. You look the best right now then you ever will in your entire life. Don't let a article of clothing let you down.

Most of the styles now are very slim fitting and tight, so they make everything smaller. It is rediculous for the people who don't want them like that. Try a different store, even though I love Kohls. =)

They are small because their market is pre teen.

You just are at that age when you are getting to be an adult and will have to change the deptarment you shop in.
My younger sister is/was always bigger & taller than me.
it bothered her that she was too big to wear mine while i could borrow hers with not too much problem.
she had to start shopping the womens section when she was your age and as a teen she did the local beauty pagent, talent show thing. and even won a small scholarship that way.

:-( dont worry about it. Juniors are made for teens with a lot of curves in weird places... so it might be akward for you to find a shirt.
