Why have so many people had a sense of humour bypass?

I've noticed a lot of questions, which I find funny, fair enough, I've got a weird sense of humour, but why do so many people insult these others?

i think it depends on the stupidity of the question and the intelligence of the answerer~~~~
actually i find biting sarcasm quite refreshing ~~especially if there is social commentary lurking in there.........(i think to many people take this board seriously, although I love it , i take everything with a grain of salt) anonymity being the key illusionary element after all, we dont know anybody here (really) do we????

Because there are a lot of idiots on here and teens who think it's clever to tell people to 'get a life' or they say 'idk', how is THAT an answer? I've only been on this site for a short while and I've noticed it's getting worse each day, before you say it, yes I know I don't have to come onto this site, but why shouldn't I? It's a public site, I've got just as much right as anyone to be here, and I don't want to be abused here or anywhere else, if certain people spoke to me in real life the way they've been speaking to me here, I'd have probably battered them by now.

I don't know. I've noticed some pretty smart-alecky answers from people who think they're cute and/or funny to what seem to be people who are genuinely having serious problems. That must feel like a real kick in the gut to the people having the problems. Let's treat the serious questions seriously, and laugh about the fun ones that aren't!

Very few people find the same things funny - which is why there are so many comedians.
At different ages, people's sense of humor changes.
Many people have recommended movies to me and when I see them, I don't see the humor.
Some of the questions and answers here are sick, smarmy or stupid. They just don't qualify as funny to me. While others I find hilarious... go figure.

Well there's a secret lab that I fly past now and again and they do experiments, they take out peoples sense of humour, sense of direction, sense of smell all kind of senses to see what would happen, eventually they'll have all sense of everything taken off them. Or maybe their brains have been replaced with smeg :D

When answering a question on Yahoo Answers I take the question as being a serious question from that user. IF I include humor, I always state I am being silly, then followup with my serious suggestion or answer. I never leave a silly answer because it sounds cute, just not right. But you can add humor, if followed up with a true answer as best you can.

I love a good laugh! Often some of the answers are hilarious, and funny to read!

But not at someone else's expense, which quite often seems the case.

For example, obvious attempts of being racist, or ageist, or homophobic etc., this hurts people, its annoying and anti-social
and not in the least FUNNY

You're the only person on this planet that still has that part of the brain developed. The rest of us are inferior, laughless, mortal clone technology whose memory chip did not have the "sense of humor" software installed into our brains.

because they have no sense of humor,and don,yt know have to have fun once in a while,I think as long as a question is not insulting to other people,threatening or vulgar it is ok,a joke or funny question is good to see once in a while
