I'm 'fixin' to call my cousin and see if I can get a "holt" of her. Then I reckon' I will ask her, "Jeet?" and if she hasn't I'll say, "Squeet." And then we'll head to the diner for vittles.

I am fixin' to take a shower and get dressed for work.
This isn't a term used very often here.
I think it's more of a Western thing.

I'm FIXIN' to GET READY TO blow out the door...yes, I use that terminology...I realize that it is incorrect, but I enjoy talking that way because it both baffles and amuses people.

Gimme an F.......
Make some iced tea for my husband and me.
And yes, even though I live in the Seattle area, I'll use that turn of a phrase from time to time.
Or, as in, "I'm taking my kittens in to the vet for "fixing".

I like to say I'm "fixing" dinner because if I don't it'll be served broken that's for sure, and no one likes a broken down dinner, it just makes everyone grumpy.
