Ah, the age old question of "Who would win between X and Y?" If I ever get tired of that, I'm checking out. On to the show.
This question can only be resolved by asking another: What is the set up? If Batman is roughing up an informant and Spidey just happens to swing by (obviously in Gotham for the sight seeing), Spidey is going to get the drop on Batman. There's only so much Aikido can do against the comparative strength of a spider.
However, if Bats needs to go to New York for a day, he's going to do some research. Much like watching your next opponent's last game, Batman is going to study, and there is nothing Batman can't do, once he's studied. For craps-sakes, he's defeated Superman (several times), Captain Marvel, and even Darkseid. My money is one The Dark Knight.

Let's see. Spider Man 's spider sense would not register Batman as a bad guy, nor truly a threat to him, since Batman does not engage in childish "Let's see who's tougher!" fights.
Batman's got chemicals that can dissolve the webbing, and probably a new (patent pending c.o. Wayne Industries) nonstick coating on his bat suit.
Spider man would hesitate to use his full strength against Batman.
Batman could just pull the same old trick as he did against Superman when they first met: "If you touch me in any way, a bomb will kill an innocent man."
Batman is just a better thinker than Spider Man is. Spider Man suffers from too much personal uncertainty and moral confusion as to whether he is doing the right thing. Batman has no such hesitation. Not that Spider Man isn't a hero, but Batman knows his cause is just. This might seems like a petty point, but that is why Batman would win.

well spider man is faster and more agile then batman making all his marital arts useless. two spider man is way stronger then batman, spidy can lift a car batman can lift what his own weight? Batman might have a few gadgets that he can throw at spidy but spider man is also smart so i think he could counter them so spider man beat the crap out of batman and goes home for some cooking from Mary Jane or aunt may

Aw man, I am a huge Spidey fan and think he can beat just about anyone. I remember when he beat Firelord. I searched high and low for that issue; I wanted it for my collection. However, Batman is too resourceful and will find a way to defeat my favorite comic book character. Hey if the BAT can defeat Superman, then Spidey doesn't start much of chance.

Spider-Man is not a mutant. He was bitten by a radioactive spider, he is genetically altered, but he is not a mutant, read the comics. Batman cannot beat Spider-Man, why? Spider-Man was buried underneath the ground for two weeks straight, and came out of it alive. This was after he was apparently killed by the Green Goblin. He was also killed by Punisher and survived that too somehow. He cannot die. Batman can try blowing him up, but he will be back, as either Peter Parker or Ben Reily, Peter's clone, either way, you cannot kill him.

Batman's lost fights to powerhouses before, most notably to Bane. I'm sure Spidey could do as well as Bane, given that he's similarly strong, probably more clever/smart, and not dependent on chemicals. Of course, Spidey wouldn't kill Batman or break his back, just temporarily incapacitate him, so Batman would certainly escape after the fight was finished (doesn't he always?).

Batman would win. Spiderman has scruples that would stop him from killing Batman, Batman will do what it takes to get the job done, and you aren't going to stop Batman unless you kill him. He is too much of a badass.

Batman. He is the coolest super hero ever. When spiderman sees batman, he will begin to grovel in respect, thus rendering him vulnerable to batman's utility belt antics.

Batman.
Batman would gas Spider-man.
Check out The Amazing Spider-man comic books. Although Spider-man has a gas mask filter for his mask, he rarely uses it, and in any number of issues, the bad guys have gassed him, and it's just been his luck that none of the bad guys have decided to shoot him while he's unconscious.
