I'm 31 and I lost my virginity at 14. Looking back , I wish I hadn't. Sex feels really good BUT there are so many complications that go with it other than STDs and the risk of pregnancy. With that said, I'm assuming you are a young lady being that everyone called you Emily.
Here's my observation... I've got myself into a lot of bad situations and relationships chasing that almighty orgasm... the seven seconds of pure bliss. I've also got my heart broken many times by the males I was with that would lie when they said "I love you." Sometimes people will say ANYTHING to get in your pants.
My question to you is... are you thinking about/having sex for gratification or for love? How long have you been with your significant other? Sex is a sticky situation... pun intended. In all seriousness though, with sex it should involve love and trust with the partner... if you do not have this then it's not OK. The bonding in sex should not be entered (ha ha) into lightly but with much consideration by both partners. I don't know what your exact situation is but I want to warn you it is very possible you could get hurt. Guard yourself and choose wisely, that way you could avoid a broken heart.
Good luck in whatever you may decide.

If, by "ok" you mean legal, then yes...usually (depending on your state), but most states say anyone over the age of 16.
If you are just asking if it is "ok" for you...then no one can answer that!! Only YOU will know when you are ready!! You have to be ready both physically AND emotionally!!! Sex usually complicates a relationship....so you should definitly be emotionally stable in your own life!
Also, if you are going to have sex I would suggest waiting until you are in a monogomous relationship (have a boyfriend that you TRUST), and even then I would suggest asking him to get tested for both STDs and AIDS! Then, and only then would I have sex and I would still make him use a condom, because you never know if he will cheat on you and contract something from somebody else and bring it back to you!
Sex is a responsibility, not just a luxury! Be careful and be Safe and you will be fine! Good Luck!!

Yes, if it is legal in your region and you know how to use birth control. If you're planning to have sex, make sure you're prepared, and if you don't know enough about it you should go to an educational website. Here are two good ones: sexetc.org and plannedparenthood.com Oh and btw, emilyy_<3, it is only illegal to have sex before marriage in certain states. A lot of areas allow it at a certain age. In my region, the age of consent is 14.

Rachel Y had an excellent answer to which I only add this, I am 36, began having sex at 14, I did not have an orgasm until I was 28 years old. I had a bazillion partners because I wanted that orgasm. I finally got it when I had one long term partner that was exclusive and we had been together for almost a year. He wanted to please me and really took the time to find out what I wanted. That is the determining factor for me now, is does he care what I want.
Having said that, is it what you want, or is he pushy?
Good luck in your choices dear, they will be a memory, good or bad.
go for good.

i wouldnt suggest it. I say wait until you are married or old enough to make that decision because it is a life changing decision. By the time I was 17 I was pregnant with number 2 and not married. It was my choice to have sex and I ended up with 2 kids out of wedlock. I am finally married but not to the kids's biological father he refuses to be in their lives. I had to grow up quick. So I'm telling you don't do it until you are ready to give up your life to children.

I did and got pregnant and now im 18 with 2 kids. But I would never take any of it bac.I chose my own path and I have to live with it.If your going to have sex use aa condom to prevent hiv aids and other std's.Dont sleep around either because you'll get a bad reputation , and im sure you dont want that.Where I live I know 11 year olds who aready have sex and 12 year olds with babys, so just be carefull in whatever you choose to do.

It is okay if your partner is close to the same age and you are both emotionally ready and both of you agree that this is for sure not rape. Otherwise they could be sleeping with you as a scam to get your money because they think that you forced them to do it.

It is not illegal for you to have sex before you get married in any state...is it? Whatever, I think that it is alright to have sex before you are 17 just as long as you are safe. Everyone is always worried about AIDS but now you have to worry about HPV too. It is just as BIG as AIDS, and if not treated just as dangerous. Be safe...

You have the rest of your life to have sex. I really do not think there is any harm in waiting. Who do you want to have sex with? It is more and more common for people to wait longer before losing their virginity.
