Librarians are very helpful. You could also go to book stores and check with the people there. Usually, people who love books, work in book stores. If you know any elementary school teachers, you can ask them as well. They are often book experts!! Ask on Yahoo Answers. Tell a little about the plot, and maybe their is some one here that will remember the book. Good luck :-)

That's tricky. Maybe by their ISBN number. Or do a keyword search. If you've read books by the same author, maybe type a title before that book came out or after. You can always ask your librarian. You need to give more additional details than that. Give me more on the plot.

I had the exact same problem, and it took me more than six months to find the book, but I did. If you know any of the characters' names, google them. That, unfortunately doesn't always work on the first attempt. Try the name + a short phrase about the plot, or a place. Perhaps if you gave us what you remember, we could help you find it.

It can take years to find the book. You have to be dedicated and really, really, want to find the book. I have been looking for a Sci-Fi book I once read and it has been 20 years and I still remember the darn book because it was so good and I never finished it. I haven't found it yet. I am not looking very hard to be honest.

Post what you do know about the book. If you remember any names...any places...any ages...and definitely something about the plot.

Try telling us what you know... the plot, a detail, whatever. You never know who might recognize it. Go back to your question and add details. You can do that... I've even seen people use this feature to interact with people who post.
A little used feature of this board.

If you know what's it about, enter all the words that may be related to the story -names of characters, settings, themes- on your search engine (google, exite, altavista, et cetera) and see what happens next!
You could also try the same on Amazon, and check under different classifications.

Remarkable results sometimes come by searching by category.
