I have a AMD FX-51 Socket 940 Chip, it starts at about 54 C but it slowly rises to close to 70 C within an hour. What is a safe temperature? Any recommended CPU Fans to use?

I'm darn sure that's an unsafe temperature. What HSF are you using? Did you remember to use thermal paste?

I recommend using a ThermalRight XP-120. I use a Zalman 7700CU because the XP-120 will not fit on my motherboard.

My 3500+ Venice typically runs at 40 degrees Celsius under full load.
