I don't hear anybody saying Fidel Castro is dead, and even if he DID die, his brother Raul is still keeping the communist dictatorship in power, which it has been since 1959.

American establishment seems obsessed with something more grotesque: rejoicing at the news of failing health of the Cuban strongman, Fidel Castro. In the last few days, the American media has been awash with negative stories which suggest that they wish Castro, who lately underwent a surgery for organ infection, did not survive the surgeon’s scalpel. The American televisions generously showed footages of singing and dancing by Cuban exiles on Miami streets following the reports from Havana.
It must have, therefore, saddened some people few days later when news came that Castro, who turns 80 this week, was in a stable condition after the intestinal op. Truly, no matter the prayers of traducers today, the fact remains that Castro won’t be buried until he is pronounced dead. Even, if Castro, obviously the last of the communist titans, were to drop dead today, he surely has made his mark already.
All the forces of the world would still find themselves insufficient before a relatively smaller army driven by passion and conviction on the justness of its own cause. Indeed, what has continued to drive the Cuban resistance against America is not so much the fire of communism. It is the spirit of Latin American nationalism. True, communism has long failed in Russia, its own land of origin, and elsewhere in Eastern Europe. But not yet in Cuba. What helped sustain the lion of Havana in power thus far is not too hard to decipher: the force of self-sacrifice, charisma and consistency.

Surely, Castro will die when his time is ripe. But until then, let the enemies save their wine.

I haven't heard any source say Castro is dead. In fact, the Yahoo lead stories have the authorities reassuring the people that he's fine. Which sources are you referring to?
