Well, depends what type of stalker you have on your hands. Violent, irrational, sweet and innocent, male or female. but you can protect yourself. File a report for harassment, and get an order of protection. Have the order of protection served, and if this person violates they can be arrested for criminal contempt, stalking, and others offenses. Just document all events. And do not meet with the person alone, or call them. b/c then they can say you are the stalker. first come first served...

I asked this a few weeks ago
tell them to leave you alone-but don't swear, you don't want an aggressive stalker.
stay cool and if you're doing in person DO NOT GO ALONE.
Then warn the person
Then get a restraining order

He can be prosecuted. In England you can get an ASBO against him. In most US states you can get a restraining order. But start with one of the Web sites that tell you what to do, in stages. See the links below:

if the person is safe tell them to stop make sure u take a friend along with u just in case and have a cellar phone on hand

Just try and ignore all threats to you. yes they will be scary, but when ignoring someone they'll see how boring you are to stalk. If you respond to any of their crap, they'll know that you get scared, and they'll just carry on annoying you.
