I'd say get scholes in your team he'll play even if they do get Marcos Senna, Senna is a holding midfielder as is Carrick looking in and around the squad i can see Scholes playing alot behind wayne Rooney and getting a few goals this will probably be Scholes best season and last.

Well it looks like he will be first choice not that I ever doubted it, as Michael Carrick has picked up a injury from a tackle from behind and look`s to be out for up to 5 weeks so thank you Paul for being fully fit.

I'm glad to see him back he's a great player for United. I'm also glad to see baby face assasin back aka supersub Ole. He's a huge asset to United. He will play an important role this season as he's back in form. He has been told by the England coach to play for the England again...

It's easy to say Gerrard offered more as a player since he was a better tackler and all in all a better defender.
But the question did ask "in their primes". Scholes in prime was an attacking midfielder. In that position he was one of the best the world has ever seen.
Gerrard of course was absolute CLASS in his own right. But you can't bring the fact of his ability as a box-to-box midfielder and think it makes him a better player (ability wise) just because Scholes was an attacking mid. I mean I can guarantee anyone with even a slight bit knowledge about football would agree that Zidane was the better player than Gerrard even though he wasn't renowned for his tackling. I don't see how it's different in this case because Scholes' ability is incomaparble with any other English midfielder in at least the last 15 years.
I'm also hearing all this nonsense about "Gerrard holding Livepool on his shoulders by himself for the last 10 years while Scholes had so many talented players around him". It's true that Scholes had many world class team mates over the years, but that DID NOT make him any less of a player. I'm positive that throughout the last 12 or so years, if United didn't have Scholes they wouldn't have had the same success. I can also guarantee that Scholes is one of the reason so many players have flourished at United including Ruud, Cristiano, Rooney, Giggs, Cole, Yorke and the list goes on. Now all this talk of Gerrard holding Liverpool up himself over the last 10 years is honestly rubbish. I agree that he was a key man to Liverpool over the last decade but that doesn't escape the fact that Michael Owen won the Ballon d'Or while at Liverpool, Robbie Fowler was arguably the most important striker at Liverpool for a while and lets not forget how much of a downfall Liverpool had when Alonso left.
