It's a nice thought, but it is unlikely that the Republicans will lose their majority in the Senate, and of course, the Administration will stay until Jan. '09. I'm not sure about the "forgive and forget" part. It's not as if we get to string up the offending representatives and use them as examples of how not to govern. Hopefully the country WON'T forget the damage that has been done to civil liberties and the economy (actually given the legacy they leave, we won't be able to forget even if we wanted to, because we, our children and grandchildren will be paying off the senseless debt for quite a long time)

"Rational citizens" as you put it, will only be back in control when both the Republicans AND the Democrats loose power. We NEED the middle ground people in power for awhile. It's the "extremists" that have been causing all the problems. Neither side will bend enough to come up with real solutions. Each side has good points and bad points, and if we could meet in the middle we could really fix things.

It just seems like a big stupid shell game to me. Whoever is in power acts like a big bully with little to no regard for the concerns or needs of the American people. WHAT A MESS!

I certainly hope not. The first step is to recognize that there's a problem, and we've just begun to do that. Look at the posts above me. Are these not some of the most disgusting people you've ever had the misfortune of coming in contact with? When will they open their eyes? It seems that it would require the killing of innocent peo- oh, wait....that's already happening and they're all for it. I think I'm going to be sick.

I really doubt we will be stripped of power..And if we are, the Democratic Liberals will f@#$ the country up and they wont have the Republicans to blame, theyll have to find someone else now

The crying hasn't stopped from the demorats yet, I can only imagin how loud they will scream when they loose again.
They are like little children who through tantrums when they don't get their way. and they have proved that over and over and over again.
Why would anyone vote for a party that acts like that, unless they act like that too.
