I don't think so. Most people who group you together are ignorant. I have many gay friends who are not flamboyant and many who are. LOL straight guys don't realize that not all gay men dream about being a woman

Not really. That would be a scapegoat. The REAL culprit that "ruins it" for gay men is the ignorance that is taught among families and in the churches. THAT is the true origin of this problem. It's a shame. I LOVE GAY MEN. They are the best guys around, femme or macho - I love 'em all. Good friends.

I think 'ruin' is the wrong word. The straight public only sees this so many guys coming out think is the only way to go. I wish more sports figures would come out for the benefit of the young gay people who have no role models. Until the public sees more 'macho' looking gay men, it will be a problem.

Ruin what for us gay men??? Are you that worried about others being their selves??? Hey, guy, we have enough bigotry from idiot bashers...we don't need it within our own ranks. Loosen up, enjoy life..it comes in all flavors. Flamers are both entertaining and fun...give them a break. If it weren't for them, we would still be in the dark ages...they have led the path to our freedom. IN fact, it was drag queens at Stonewall that started our revolution. Instead of bashing, befriend and you will be amazed at how much fun you can have. Good luck

It APPEARS that way because you can see heterosexuals recoil from them and want to bash everyone who isn't just like them.

But the cobra of bigottry is there in the basket whether teased out by a femme or not!

Femmes "annoy" me, too, but for a different reason. They secretly turn me on and I want to flirt with them, and I don't want to get into that in front of a mixed audience.

Don't be so selfish. Maybe lipstick lesbians think the same thing about gay men.

Selfish (Self"ish) (?), a.
1. Caring supremely or unduly for one's self; regarding one's own comfort, advantage, etc., in disregard, or at the expense, of those of others. "They judge of things according to their own private appetites and selfish passions." Cudworth. "In that throng of selfish hearts untrue." Keble.
2. (Ethics) Believing or teaching that the chief motives of human action are derived from gratifying one's own pleasure. "Hobbes and the selfish school of philosophers." Fleming.
3. Meanly covetous or avarcious in dealing with others; stingy.

No I don't think they ruin anything for anyone. I liken the glittery femmes to flowers or jewels that make life more beautiful and interesting.

No. But it is no to say that somepeople will stereotype and that is human nature. But I should think as a gayman yourself you would not be so fast to judge. If thats the case look at your username do you not think that tou could be considered sterotyped. Really dont you think that is one in the same.

no, I'm not flamboyant, but i support all gay men. so if sister wants to flame let her. it's not about fitting into little unobtrusive boxes so society will accept us, it's about absolutely being equal. and those swishy queens are the ones who fought (literally) to get us where we are. without them there would be no gay rights movement at all! unity is the way to go, i may not always agree with what some homosexuals do but i support their right to be who they are unequivocally.

There is room for everyone in this world. While certainly the sterotypes can paint us all with one broad brush, and they shouldn't, the make a noise that needs to be heard, that there is plenty of space for us all.
