Boy, there is a LOT of confusion about Limewire.

Yes, Limewire is being sued by a coalition of record companies. There is no decision yet, it hasn't even gone to court. They also sued the makers of BearShare and E-Mule. Those two folded up. Limewire did not.

Now, here's the thing, Limewire does not own or run the network they connect to. That network is called the Gnutella network. It is still up and running. The current and older versions of Limewire (and BearShare) will still connect to the network.

What have we learned? LimeWire and BearShare are PROGRAMS. Gnutella is a NETWORK that LimeWire and BearShare connect to.

What makes me laugh is when someone tells you to dump LimeWire in favor of BearShare because of viruses. And yet, both connect to the same network. And BearShare is loaded with spyware!

Because just this past week several major record companies put a lawsuit on them. They'll be shut down just like Napster was in 2001 for the same thing.

NOTHINGS WRONG WITH MINE. IF YOUR RUNNING ON DIAL UP IT'LL TAKE AWHILE IF NOT THEN I DUNNO WHATS WRONG. I HAVE LIMEWIRE PRO AND IT CONNECTS FINE. WHENEVER ITS DONE CONNECTING AT THE BOTTOM IT WILL LIGHT UP BLUE AND SAY TURBO CHARGED(IF YOU HAVE PRO) IF YOU JUST HAVE BASIC IT WILL LIGHT UP I THINK IT WAS RED BUT IF NOT IT LIGHTS UP ALL THE BARS AND SAYS CONNECTED. WHEN YOU CONNECT TRY GOING TO AUDIO TYPE IN THE SONG YOU WANT AND CLICK SEARCH, IF A BOX POPS UP SAYIN THAT YOUR NOT CONNECTED THEN I DUNNO IF THAT BOX DOES NOT POP UP THEN YOU ARE CONNECTED.

Maybe it's cause of the lawsuit that was just filed against them.
