Girl, Interrupted is one of my favorite movies ever. I know that Susanna Kaysen was a real writer, and that the movie was based on her memoirs from when she was in a mental institution. What I can't find out, though, is if Lisa Rowe was a real person she met or just an addition to her story to make the movie more interesting. If anyone knows if she was real, or where I can get real information about her, that'd be fantastic.

i used to watch this film all the time and im sure if i remember that lisa rowe is fiction

I don't think so. Lisa Rowe is a fictional character but probably compared to someone Susanna Kaysen met when she was in the Claymore Institution

I love the book and the movie but I had no idea that is was supposed to be based on real life. I'll be watching this question to find out.

sorry i don't know but you can search her or the movie on wikipedia or something. that was one of the best movies i've ever seen and i didn't know about it being based on real accounts. that's really interesting.

I don't know. I thought that movie would be a lot better than it was, though. I was actually quite disappointed in it.
