Just Get A Pet Turtle. You Need To Put A Small Lamp And Point The Lamp At It. Then Put Some Salad Around It (No Toppings Or Sauce) And Get A Log With The Wood Cut Through In The Middle Of It And A Bowl For It To Drink Water.

Yes a very suitable pet, they're easy to look after, can be tamed to be loving and a really friend. It also teaches the child responsibility and its not too much responsibility like walking, just feeding cleaning and generally caring for... a rabbit or a Guinea pig would be perfect!

With the right education on domestic rabbits they can make good pets but I strongly stress to you that the girl that is wanting this pet also understand that with a pet comes great responsibility.Such as care of the animal and cleaning it's cage.
Besides it is going to be her pet.

Depends on the child. Some 12 year olds are mature enough to be responsible for a pet, others aren't.

Yeh totally, but she'll probs get bored of it soon enough!
If she's a girly girl im betting she'd prefer a cute little chihuaha cos she can take it on walks and it should live longer than a rabbit.

No way. The 12 year old will be 30 by the time the rabbit joins the choir invisible. You will retire looking after the damn rabbit. Get something that's on a shorter timer.

Yes but wouldn't an outdoor one be better. I wouldn't be keen on keeping a rabbit indoors. Not very hygienic and I'm sure the bunny would rather be out doors in a run. My kids love our bunnies and they don't take much looking after if your lumbered with it.

Better going for something a bit more short-lived. A hamster, maybe? I had one in Primary School and I loved making tunnels and slides for it... and it only lived to be 16 months old.

i used to breed rabbits and i think it is a great gift but a rabbit would be best outdoors if you have a garden.
but sit her down and let her know that it is a great responsibility having a rabbit and if not looked after it will die quickly.
good luck with that
