'97 Voyager - check engine light came on - code P0140 was stored - O2 sensor behind the converter - replaced the sensor - assuming the sensor was the problem - when will the light go off? How many starts will it take? Do I have to disconnect the battery or should I continue to drive it normally until the number of starts adds up?

Usually there is a way to reset the lights once the work is done. Your user manual should tell you.

The check engine light will go off once the battery has been disconnected and then reconnected. While the car was being serviced for the sensor the battery should have been disconnected. That would have automatically solved it. The computer has to go through a bios check each time it starts up. It will store any failure code and then show up as a check light if power is not lost to the computer. Also if the wire leading to the sensor is defective the light will still show failure because in effect the problem was probably the wire and not the sensor. Also a bad tune will foul the sensor within days again.

Could be any intermittant problem. Some problems only show up when you run an engine hard. Depending on what kind of car you have, the code might be stored on your computer. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it until it comes back.

If you have had the required service performed, the light must be reset, usually done by the technician. If they forgot, take it back to reset.
The manual should instruct on the procedure.

Under normal conditions that light should go out after about 20 or more startups. If not just go to Autozone, if one is in your area, and ask them to check it, and clear it.
