No. Some people gain power through respect, some through admiration, some through the power of their mind.

Power is a tool for making our lives better. We take it for granted, but having it means not needing to do without it. But, having electrical power brings certain risks; there is electrical shock. The electricity is not the dangerous part of the scenario; it is the amperage. But even without the amperage, out lives of ease would be made difficult.
Case in point; we can't do without transportation. But every mode of transportation has dangers. Our transportation systems are great; but they kill, just as electricity kills. That is the price of modernization.

Im not sure what context you mean to put this question into, but a question like this came up earlier with one of my friends. we were discussing how our parents used to spank our butts with wooden spoons and wash our mouths out with soap if we swore etc. Because we hated those violent actions, we chose NOT to do them to our kids. However, our kids do misbehave, argue and act in ways we just wouldnt as kids. We came to the realization that we would have to use our power to frighten our kids the way we were frightened of our parents if we wanted them to be as well behaved as we were back then. So, to answer your question, I think it is easier to use power in more dangerous ways in order to create control quickly and effectively. However, this leads to people having external drives for behavior and goals and not internal drives and therefore is not the best way in the long term.. It aslo can have some consequeces in the form of rebellion and mutany later on. I dont believe that forceful or dangerous power is necssary in all cases, and despite the fact that it is more challenging to use power responsibly and benevolently, it is still the best way.

Power is not ONLY dangerous. In fact it is a good servant but a bad master. For people who follow the rules correctly it had been a good servant. Almost like you are ok, I am ok. So, it is more in the hand of the user than on its own and had been effective always. KITA will not work always under all circumstances.

I would have to agree with cmriley1's answer. Power on its own is not dangerous, but if you put that power into the hands of people with no common sense or no sense of right and wrong, than you have trouble.

Power isn't dangerous, the people who use it are. Power is just a tool, and like any other tool, it can be dangerous if misused, but it's a person who makes the decision to misuse it and turn it dangerous.
