I see you say LOL. But you do ask a good question that I'm sure others have thought of as well.
Here's my take on it.
Knowledge is wealth therefore many of us are 'profiting' from these exchanges. Someone could conceivably (and I'm sure some do) take such knowledge and create a product or service from which they can make money from.
I believe the question implies that money is the only or the best form of wealth. However money is after all only 1 type of wealth. (BTW: There are 5 distinct types.)
Your health and happiness are much more valuable. This forum for free exchange also gives you the opportunity to tap this large base of collective knowledge.
If someone were to give you helpful information that improved your health or increased your happiness that could truly be much more valuable than money.
I for one am just glad that they're not charging us for using the infrastructure they've built to provide this service.

Ah, no. Most of us probably do not have the proper credentials to have our opinions to be worth anything. Who said we were experts? We are just doing this for fun, aren't we?

If we were such "experts" on everything, like we think we are, we'd be in so much demand, we wouldn't have time to be on here! lol

If "Dear Abby" can get paid for her opinion, so should we.
