Do any of your members of the team own a business? That's usually the best place to start. Then next, contacts that your team has....network !!!!

If those don't work, you may just have to do some cold calling -- but it may work better in person. Be knowledgeable about costs and benefits. Maybe even get two or three smaller companies to share sponsorship. For my kid's soccer team, we had 4 sponsors ...... we had all their logos on the front of the shirts.

Then make sure you keep them posted on your activity and definately send a thank you card from the whole team --- or even better, have the team picture put on a plague, businesses love to display those !!!!

Good Luck !!!

bars, local restaurants and construction (local fencing, landscaping, pools, etc) companies are pretty good bets. Always try local companies over large national corps, as they are the ones most likely to use sponsorship like that to get their names out to the community.

Ask stores that you want to get sponsored by and they probably will think about it or they will say yes.

Check with chain restaurants and chain grocery stores, they usually do that sort of thing. Here the best bet is "Save-on Foods", but if you are in the States, I don't know the grocery store chains.
