Real estate agents make free property appraisals, as a come on to get your house listing for sale and commissions. Phone several and have each one make an appraisal. Space the visits out. So the agents don't bump into each other. Local agents are best as they know the peculiarities of the city your specific neighborhood. they also are aware of the sale price for properties in your area and accurately guesstimate what your property would sell for. They have access to multiple real estate listing with asking prices and which properties sold recently and at what price. The information is public record, (in mot jurisdictions), because sales and land taxes are public record.

You cannot know the precise market value until someone signs a contract to buy it. You can estimate the market value if you know the recent sale prices of similar homes in your neighborhood or similar nearby neighborhoods. Many newspapers publish this information in their business or real estate sections -- usually on Sunday. All active real estate brokers have access to services that allow them to access recent sales in order to estimate market values.

You can contact an appraiser for a full appraisal. Tell them you are looking for the "fair market value".
Or you can have a REALTOR do a comparative market analysis (CMA).

www.zillow.com will give you an estimated value. The actual, retail value of what your home will sell at depends on what's going on in your market.

Your best bet is to have a good realestate agent and speak to him/her to have your home appraised

You get it appraised. I think banks do that. Or the realtor.
