She sounds like me when I was pregnant with my boy. I constantly had heart burn from around 4 months, I put on 3.5 stone, and was in and out of hospital with high blood pressure!! I also never suffered with morning sickness which is an old wives tale too. If you are not sick then it is a boy if you are it's a girl. This was true for my sister, she was never sick with her boy but was with two girls!

You can't tell the sex of the baby from symptoms like this. I have been told that girls give you more morning sickness than boys but I've had bad m/s and I'm having a boy so that can't be true.

Heartburn is really common in pregnancy and doesn't mean anything to do with the baby's sex.

The only way to predict the sex of a baby is to do an ultrasound (can't always tell) or maybe can tell from amniotic fluid test.

The high blood pressure can be dangerous to both her and the baby. If she is't seeing a doctor, she needs to do so ASAP.

unlikely shes having a boy if shes put loads of weight on,most of my mates have got girls and they piled on the pounds!!and i mean everywhere, bum, hips, boobs.meanwhile my best friend had a boy,and she carried the bump and that was it.also I'm nearly 37 weeks pregnant with a boy and Ive put hardly any weight on at all.i was a size 10 now I'm a 12,the only thing that has got big is my tummy!!but i suggest your friend goes to the doctor about her bp,because its not good for her while she is pregnant.also, she will find out what the sex of the baby is at her 5 month scan.

There is no way you can predict the sex of the baby - all these things are old wives tales that have a 50/50 chance of being right!

I suffered from pre-eclampsia when I was pregnant with my son. Symptoms included high blood-pressure, weight gain (due to fluid retention) and epi-gastric pain (pain under your ribs). I had to be induced at 32 weeks, so I am always warning friends to keep a close eye on these symptoms. Make sure your friend is in close contact with her obstetrician!!

Actually, I believe that a girl is carried at the front without mum putting excess weight on and women who carry boys nearly always put the pounds on particularly around tha hips and legs, so they carry their babes all round if you know what I mean

sudden or excessive weight gain and high blood pressure are two major symptoms of pre-eclampesia....a sever medical condition that usually involves induction of labor. Other common symptoms are headaches, pain in the right side and protein in her urine. If she has any of these symptoms she needs to be seen by her professional.

oh just the usual joys of being pregnant , leave her be and let her body get on with doing what it has to do, unforetunately the weight distribution is no signal of the sex of the baby that can be relied upon ull just have to wait and see, good luck to her and i hope you stay as an attentive friend once the babies here, the worse thing she should have to endure is her friends all dissowning her once its here, make yourself involved and enjoy it WITH her...
