why don't white trash people want to do better?

my ex is WHITE TRASH... with me he had a wife, son, home, cars, good job. but it was to much pressure or whatever so he LEFT, no i find out he is probably going back to prison not just jail next week. Why cant white trash people make the discussion to do better and stick with it?

While I feel your assesment of this subculture of poor white americans is pretty generalist and stereotypical, I do think there is some merit to what you are saying. You have a right to be angry with your ex. When I was putting myself thruough college driving pizza delivery, I used to get called to this trailer park and go to this one place where a 400 pound woman with about 6 kids came to the door to pay for the expensive overpriced "gourmet" pizzas we sold. She always stopped to tell me how broke she was and could not afford a tip. I always thought that it was stupid to buy pizza for 30 bucks when the 30 bucks could buy about 2 days worth of food for her kids. I also have an ex whos family is like this as well, but he seemed to escape his parents fate. We wonder how he turned out normal and hardworking. I think that depression, alcoholism, incest and child abuse are what start some people down the road to being chrionic underachievers. I often wonder how many kids in that trailer park have fetal aclohol syndrome and will never have anything but a life of poverty. Make sure you have high expectations of yourkid and show him a standard of living apart from this. make them study their butts off!!!

I'm sorry to hear what happened to you. I think, he didn't have his true goals straighten out. If he's going back to prison maybe it is because of the people he hung out with. I believe on giving people a second chance. And if they don't do anything to better themselves and their lives. Well, we can't make 'em do what we want them to be. all I can tell you is to keep hanging there and do what ever you have to do for you and your son.

Everybody makes mistakes not only white people. Don't feel bad, it wasn't your fault, OK?

its because white trash are lazt like being lazy and would rather take other peoples money from haveing public aid it is that simple. they would rather sit there and get free money then work for it. but then you can look at them and think well that person is going to be a white trash loser for the rest of thier life!!! My husband and i both work our ***'s off to get what we have. we have a nice house and a great chevy silverado extended cab 4x4 half ton truck. and i am proud to have this much considering we have only been married for 3 years.

It's a personal thing not being "white trash" a lot of those folks weren't raised to have much confidence in there ability to deal with the big world.

Maybe the dont want to better themselves because they dont know better, because they think is too much work and is not what they grew up with so they are not familiar with and probably dont care.
