I've been addicted to games like World of Warcraft. When I could I just played it all day long. Gaming is pretty magical and stepping away for a bit makes them even more fun to play :P I would say live a little but game worlds are amazing places to spend your time in.

yes, smashing the computer....
no, i would recommand getting out often, go to a movie, play basketball, anythin to keep your mind off computers. Smashing computers and not logiing on are not options, since you (and most people) cant do that. So I would advise activities to distract online-games. But make sure after the movie, go right back to studying, it will help, trust me(well better than smashing the computer etc)

uninstall any game files, and turn off the computer when not doing school work on it. If you can't do that, get a friend to help you. Computer addiction is real, and can be treated, but you have to have to be helped. If you don't need your computer for your studies, turn off the machine, and give the power cord to a friend to hold onto until after your tests are done.

You could try to enforce a rule. Let's say, for each hour of real studying, you get to play one game that lasts no longer than 15 minutes. Try something along those lines.
Or try studying in a location that does not have a computer with game access.

smash the computer.
a druggie asking for help will ask "just don't throw away my stash, ok man?"
but that is exactly what has to happen, because you cannot function with your computer in front of you. Are you addicted to Yahoo Answers as well?
Or, just drop out of school. Become a professional game player. Or, just grow up, would you?

Now it looks like you are addicted to this forum, too. Use games as a reward. Don't play until you complete your studying. If you get a good grade, increase the game time you reward yourself with, but still keep it under control.

Erm... stop playing?
Go out with friends and study?
Ask your parents to freeze your internet connection?
Lock up your PC?
Get a life?

addiction to anything is hard to break, if you can not break it, you need to control it, do your homework first, only play after you have finished and then think of playing games as a reward.
video games are very time consuming because you do not keep track of the time while you are playing and before you know it it is too late to do you homework.
