My friend lives in Florida and wants to buy me passes to DisneyWorld as a gift, but I've heard that to use them, you have to show proof of residency. Does anyone know? I don't want her to waste her money if we can't use them.

hi,
that is correct you will not be able to use them.they will not only require proof of residency but they may even ask for id.my best suggestion if she wants to buy you tickets to disney i would either suggest she buy them a t a disney store or get you a gift card or even purchase them at www.waltdisneyworld.com i believe she can have them delivered right to you.

I believe that when she buys them they will have her name printed on them, then you'll need ID to use them. That's the basic idea, anyway. I don't know whether they really check the IDs or not. I used my own resident discount pass back in December at Magic Kingdom and no one asked for my identification. But it's a lot of money to spend on tickets if you can't use them!
