Robert Plant is definately in the very top of male vocalists. How can you pick just one. There's so many great ones Steven Tyler, Mick Jaggar, Freddie Mercery,Rod Sterwart, Elton John,Paul McCartney, The list goes on and on.But Plant is definately the tall cool one

I don't know...I love Zeppelin and Robert Plant, he's definitely one of the tops, but you can't forget Freddie Mercury. He had such a strong, amazing voice and Queen to me was just as good and influential as Led Zeppelin. In fact, both vocalists' were fans of the others' band!
So anyway...I don't think you can pick just ONE best, for any category.

sorry guys, but Maynard James Keenan is. I'm not saying Robert plant sucks. these are all opinions anyways. the vocal range and voice changes and the 2 bands. tool and a perfect circle. the guy is juts amazing.

robert plant is one of the worst singers i've ever heard. he sounds like a whiny teenager. but, if you're comparing him to other rock singers i think freddie mercury is the more talented.

He's definitely on the top of my list. I recently bought a Led Zeppelin CD of the older hits and have practically worn it out.

i dont know about the best ever but he is very good. but when it comes to screamin out the lyrics Brian Johnson takes the cake!!!
