This is a poem written by a teenager with cancer.
She wants to see how many people get her poem.
It was sent by a medical doctor..
Slow Dance
Have you ever watched kids on a merry go round?
Or listen to rain pounding on the ground?
Have you ever followed a butterfly's irratic flight?
Or gaze into the sun till the fading night?
You better slow down, dont dance so fast,
Time is short,
the music wont last...
Do you run through the day on a fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed?
With the next hundred chores going round in your head?
You better slow down,Dont dance so fast....
Time is short....
The music wont last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere,
Youve missed half the fun of getting there!
When you worry and hurry through your day,
Its like an unopened gift youve thrown away.....
Life is not a race...Take it much slower.
Hear the music..
Before the song is over..........
Before t

To the people who said it was too long, you really missed out on a beautiful poem. It should be put to music. It would make a great song.

What a truly beautiful poem with much wisdom to be found. I was really touched by it especially because of my own serious illness . If this girl is under 18 I would recommend contacting the make a wish foundation to provide a wish for her. She is wise beyond her years and I'll say a prayer for such a sweet girl , bless her heart. I'm including the following statement concerning the make a wish foundation , here goes>We include the entire family in the child's magical wish. The wish experience is a time which provides joy, respite and family healing. It is a time when the focus is NOT on the child's illness. Families have related their feelings of anger, stress, helplessness and deprivation upon learning that their child is in a life-threatening situation. The "magic" we provide by granting a wish gets the whole family out of the hospital. It offers them a time of fun and togetherness. And for these very special children and their families, lives are measured in memories... not in years.

Also there is a link to other wish foundations
