I have learned that an emotional response is usually devoid of the common sense that is needed to get through. I try to make it a rule to lose my grip for a second then handle the problem.

There's an emotional/mental reaction of some sort to every situation... we wouldn't be human if we didn't feel/think something about every situation.
We may not respond verbally or physically... but we always have an emotional/mental response going on inside us.

No. Losing control of my emotions will in no way improve the situation and most likely make comunications aimed at resolution more difficult.

mostly no. Most of the time I have control of my emotions, not letting emotions control me. Women who do that embarrass me, make me ashamed of being a women.
The only emotion that comes out is anger, and that has to be something very bad.
