What are the main elements of a pulled together image and style, fashion or otherwise? What components are necessary to look great from head to toe? If you were teaching a class on fashion, style and image, what would you tell your students to do or have or buy in order to look pulled together and stylish?

To me a pulled-together look is when all the elements coordinate well for the intended result.

The shoes, bag, jewelry, all need to be casual, sporty, dressy, bohemian, classic, whatever impression the outfit itself indicates.

To me, it's a matter of "fashion sense" the way people have "common sense."

Certain accessories are helpful to any wardroble: purses in different styles, sizes, and colors; an assortment of jewelry that is appropriate for different occasions, and it doesn't have to be expensive to be nice; a selection of shoes: sandals, wedges, mules, slides, flats, heels, sport shoes. Some people like scarves: I personally can't stand them!

Other "necessities," at least in my opinion, are: nice, hooded sweatshirts; a denim jacket; black skirt/dress; khaki pants; corduroy slacks; blue jeans in different finishes; neutral colored skirts/pants/jackets that can be used with other pieces (navy, beige, white or off-white, gray, black). A few dresses and skirts in styles that are flattering and comfortable, and not too trendy.

A coat for dressy occasions; 3/4 length jacket for sporty occasions; some cardigans and v-neck sweaters; a shawl for evenings out.

The main things to remember are to dress to accent your good features, take attention off the weaker ones, be true to your own tastes and don't worry about "fads" but if you do intend to get into fads, don't spend a lot.

Have fun with fashion, don't take it overly seriously. Don't overdo w/accessories, and make sure they are the correct size for your height and body type.

wow the lady above me is in the wrong section but anyways i would say that it would be a matching suit top and skirt/pants whatever you prefer.the suit has to be very fitted where your curves are like your waist and hips. For shoes i would say something sophisticated like black high heeled boots but the heal has to be thin and sleek. For your hair it should be in a bun with bobby pins. You should obviously where a shirt under you suit jacket probably white and don't be afraid to put on some glitzy jewelry and make your make conservative like light eyeshadow with black eyeliner and just some clear gloss for the lips.By the way i was thinking a light pastel green suit but you can choose which ever color you like.
