If you go into your browser options, there should be an option to delete all cookies.
For defrag, go to your start menu, hit programs, accessories, system tools, Disk Defragmenter.
You will need to leave your computer alone while it is defraging, probably for a while. Also, you might want to look into what all programs you have running; there may be something running in the background that is slowing you down.

Set ur recyclebin to directly delete and this is set to all dives. Then go to active drive(normally C) that where from your programmes loads. There u will find a folder WINDOWS. There you click on u find two flders named as Temp and Temp internet files . There double click and delete all cookies. Once this is done. Use defrgment and restart. It will bootup quickly. Pl. note that your antivirus software also makes your computer slow. However this is the right solution.

If defrag and cookie deleting doesn't help, you might also want to do a ad-ware/spyware check. These can slow your system down as well.
I would recommend Lavasoft's Free Ad-Aware Personal program. You can get it here: http://www.lavasoftusa.com
If your computer has ALWAYS been slow, you may need to install more system RAM to speed things up.

go to start
all programs
accessories
system tools
disc clean up
and delete all the files shown
you may also in the same way go to disc defragmentor and defragment your c drive but it may take long time and in that time you may not be able to do anything else. I advice you to do defrafmentation at night , so by morning your PC will be ready as a new born baby
All the best.

Open MY Computer, right click on C:, left click properties. Left click tools and then defragment. The pie shaped program when you open tools, lets you detect and delete cookies, the recycle bin and unnecessary items.
