Do not get angry, do not get even, get richer!
Use your energy to get positive things done. Look at other job possibilities and take with you all the contacts you have, If your boss and colleagues can not see beyond this, they do not deserve you.

Geez, you haven't gotten a REAL answer yet huh. LOL.
This is what you can do. Go to an internet cafe or some place FAR from your house, another city, get online, create a new bogus email address, and send an anonymous email to someone higher up from your work, and just go off on that person, criticizing them of whatever you want - and drop subtle hints that it's coming from the person you hate. CC to different ppl in your department and other departments. That'll cause a rift among your work. But you gotta do it smartly, so one knows it's YOU and drop enough hints that will make people think it's that SOB. Make sense? :)

Take the high road -- seriously, bear with me, here.
Quietly compile every piece of evidence you can that will clear you of any false allegations he made against you, will correct any inaccurate information he gave about you and that will clear up any misconceptions he created in regards to you and your job performance.
When you have everything you need to clear your good name, put together a proper presentation and then request a meeting with your boss, your boss's boss and key co-workers whose respect and cooperation you require to do your job efficiently and the co-worker who levied the charges.
Very calmly and very professionally open your presentation by expressing your surprise at the allegations made against you, recently, say that the respect of your peers is necessary in a team environment and that it saddens you to see anyone's hard earned reputation damaged by misunderstandings such as those presented against you recently.
Make this about clearing your name so you can continue to do a good job for the company -- don't make it about getting even with the person who did this. Don't name names or point fingers or even hint that you believe this person purposely set out to destroy you... take the tack that as far as you're concerned, it was all an unfortunate misunderstanding on his part, with consequences damaging to the company's bottom line.
Then present your evidence -- never mention the allegations, themselves, just present evidence that successfully disproves each point made against you. After presenting your evidence, add on any additional successes you've been responsible for in the company or things you've done that were above and beyond the call of duty.
Thank everyone for their time and for the opportunity to set the record straight -- and open the floor to questions -- answer any questions they ask calmly, politely and honestly -- do NOT get defensive.... keep your cool at all costs.
You'll show you're not petty, you're highly professional and that you put the company's bottom line first. ...and, in the process, you'll make Mr. Jobwrecker look like an unprofessional hot head who rushes to judgement and sounds off alarm bells without doing his homework. ...And you won't ever have to look over your shoulder, worrying when you'll be caught for the revenge you meted out on him.

You are in a particularly, difficult situation.
I have witnessed the very behavior you've been subjected to on several occassions as a shop steward for a Union.
After investigating claims by an "interested party" I found that the person responsible for the slanderous behavior against them tended to treat others in this same fashion. As a result, I found that there were others complaining about this very person directing un-professional behavior toward them.
At the conclusion of the investigation, we determined that this slanderous individual was building up considerable resentments among his/her co-workers by criticizing them in the same, disrespectful manner.
Our final advise to the injured party was that he/she should do nothing, but, ignore the slanderous individual because they were continually making more and more enemies and were "sinking" themselves (its only a matter of time before their slanderous behavior becomes very noticeable to their supervisor... who will direct corrective measures to return the work to a much more acceptible invironment).
As solace, please remember that good supervisors will not remain ignorant of employee misbehavior and tend to "adjust" the work environment towards favorable outcomes.

There is no way to do this anonymously. You will be caught and then your reputation will be completely destroyed. How about you just grow up a little and act mature? Then people will see that he was wrong about you.
I just went through your questions and saw your one on office pranks. If you did something like that to this guy then you probably deserved what was coming to you. That kind of behavior is completely inappropriate in most offices even if you find it funny. Even though the victim may play along, most do not find pranks like that truly funny. They feel victimized.

Remember, what goes round comes round. If you do something to him, you will pay 7 times fold. The best thing you can do, is to visualize him getting a Better job elsewhere, with more money, so that when he takes it, you can go back to your norm. Visualize this on a daily basis and mean it through your thoughts. It will happen.

i admire politics. and that's because of a area referred to as public opinion. it is a brilliant democratic thought. you may get the generic public perspectives on what your government is going to do with numerous regulations and what not. yet there is one factor approximately public opinion which will continually make me chortle. the government does not care!!! public opinion ability not something; the generic public could say regardless of they want yet your government will nevertheless do regardless of it needs, ok? Jack will do what he needs. And if he desires as much as now you, he won't care what human beings will say, and to be honest neither could desire to you. Why could desire to you care what your college thinks? they gained't even join your existence in some years. yet he could be. And does not that be nicely worth plenty better than the critiques of a few people who, enable's settle for it, you will not even undergo in techniques the names of 0.5 of them in a short an area of time as 3 years after commencement?

You are asking for an intelligent answer to an unintelligent question. Your reputation should speak for itself, anything you try to do to get back at this person will only make you look bad.

Do NOT stoop to his level! His day will come, he will do this again to someone else and be found out and you will have a big smile on your face. Unless you are willing to loose your job, DON"T!
Good Luck!
