Does the Dodge Shadow have coil springs on the rear or leaf springs. If it has leaf springs that could be the source of the squeak. Many vehicles have pad of some sort between some of the leaf springs to keep them from squeaking. It could be that the pad has worn out or fallen out.

Is it a hatchback? Could be its a little loose and makes a squeaking sound when you hit a bump.
