I am allergic but found out when I was a kid. I got hives from it and have never taken it again. I can take Vicodin for some reason which is supposed to be a similar medication. Tussinex cough syrup from the doctor contains vicodin instead of codeine and works real well for me

Got a rash about an hour afterwards. No other problems and it works soo well without other side effects that I still prefer it over Darvocet. Because your symptoms are much more serious contact your physician for an alternative painkiller.
