You are close , but Alberta is barely the best prairie province. Having lived through the boom of the 70's in Alberta, I would put Alberta ahead of Saskatchewan and Manitoba but behind all other provinces in Canada, including Quebec. I say you are close only because it is in the best country in the world but far from the best province. Spend some time in the maritmes, take a holiday in B.C., Canada is alot more than oil and without the input of people from the rest of Canada developing Alberta, because of the oil there, Alberta would just be a norhtern Texas, full of big-headed windbags. Talk to me when the oil runs out about how great a place Alberta is. People make the place , not resources.

Your kidding right? I finally got out of that pit of despare. Yeah there are jobs but they don't pay well and it is so expensive to live now that you could work for years and maybe one day you can buy an ugly little house. I came to Alberta for a job when I was 20 because there was no work and I hated it. I finally put my self through school but was constantly worried about making enough money and worried about getting sick because I sould never get a doctor. I did finally get started there and got out then had to go back for a few months and it was so depressing. The bums and the red neck hicks the horrible service. I would gladly never set foot in Alberta again. I am in Europe now and finally feel free and alive.

My wife and I just moved to Alberta from BC, our pay is higher, and cost of living lower.
So for us, yes Alberta is the best place to be.

Alberta is the best place for work right now. We can't get enough workers here. Businesses have had to shut down or shorten their business hours because they can't find workers.

Calgary is the economic centre of Canada. Sorry Toronto, you're no longer the centre of the universe. It's to bad that Calgary has to share the province with Edmonton though.
