if you are unheard of you stink if you make something that stinks. ringo starts painting he is an instant picasso. if any of you have seen the trojan war depiction in the philadelphia art museum's modern section, that is what im talking about. yet, people who really try get nowhere with good stuff while famous people do stuff that is terrible and get really good reviews,

it's all about who you know... how else would paris hilton have received a recording contract?

the truly talented might be recognized if someone with a real head on their shoulders discovers it and makes it known but frequently it doesn't happen until the artist is already gone. being famous gets you instant buzz and everyone wants to check it out to see if it's any good. heads firmly implanted in butts, they think it's good because they don't know any better, because all the know is what's easy to find and in the mainstream.

if you are an artist, do not be discouraged, just keep touching individual lives as possible and enjoy your art for what you have created. do not let public recognition (or lack thereof) destroy your talent too early.

It's about like the 12 year old girl who painted like Picasso. I could do the same thing and it would be like 'Yeah, so why did you copy Picasso?' The girl becomes an instant celebrity. Why? Because of her age. I have seen artwork that was so much better than hers, but those people will never be recognized. It is sad. I think that girl is now 18 or something like that.
