All of our politicians don't ever use the word capitalism.

Is it off limits?

Is it a dirty word?

Comments at will, and thankyou.

Most elected officials prefer to use the term "free enterprise" in referring to what others call Capitalism.

There is certainly nothing wrong with capitalism, per se, as it is the engine that drives a free economy, but the negative image presented by classic communism tends to cast the word in a negative and emotional light.

Free enterprise, on the other hand, contains two very positive words that are very hard for anyone to successfully criticize or use in a "name-calling" context.

While I highly doubt most elected officials can figure out the whole idea of Capitalism with its invisible hand. The federal government can barely let us run our own lives. There truly is a nanny state among us.

Capitalism is completily opposite this and says to us that we can run our lives and use our capital to buy anything with in our means.

Also to keep in mind, which for some reason never comes up too often, President Bush much like a socialist essentially nationalized the entire security agency in Airports. This created the Transportation Security Agency.

So the true question is are the people we are sending to washington perhaps Socialists? Remember the most successful third party was the Socialist Party and the other two parties take note.

Couldn't comment because I've never heard all that all elected officials had to say. You did not either. You are painting with a very broad brush.

Because if they admit that the high gas prices are a result of Capitalism, they would have to admit that they think there is a flaw with it and people would start calling them socialist.

You do, just not Liberals, they hate capitalism....that means a self dependent people, and not in need of there government handouts, which mean we don't need them....luckily, we are realizing that now....after 40 years of destroying, they can't handle seeing us growing, and becoming strong, and respected throughout the world again
