Start of slow with panties and wearing your regular clothes then go up to lingerie and when you think your ready go full blown dress but if you are not going to a bar just stay at home don't go outside it don't look right fr a 72 yr old man to be walking around in full drag.

Do no wear clothes from the 70s or 80s. Ask a woman friend to take you shopping. Or, if that embarrasses you, just go shopping with a woman friend (when she buys clothes for herself) and get an idea of what is 'in' now.
Try to look nice, in style. An older man used to come in to my photo lab wearing black combat boots, a skirt and a black wife beater--that's not in style.
Watch "tootsie" with Dustin Hoffman.

lol watch your bac, i kno it sounds a little mean but seriously, do it in areas that you can feel completly safe. I wouldnt want you to be hurt or possibly beat by some messed up queer basher @ the local mall. Like the others said, i recomend truly taking your time with it, start off with intimates under your regular clothing then work your way up to dress and the like........

Make sure that your shoes and purse match in quality. It's not acceptable to wear expensive shoes and have a purse that someone thinks is cheap, even though you paid $95.00 for it and they have no clue to it's value..........
