Reservations of Seats == Caste SYSTEM====what is bad from the two..?

caste system is the basic root of every problem which include Reservations of seats in every field, THAN WHY WE ARE PROTESTING AGAINST RESERVATIONS WHY NOT CASTE SYSTEM......?

We cant' work due to ths,wecant marry, we can't study we can't live easily and the coming generations is grabbing the same.......please make a habit to give lessons to others of ELIMINATING caste System.

In its own stead, nothing is bad or good. It is the way it is used, implemented and taken up that makes it bad or good.

Caste system if we read our original scriptures was never meant to be a cast in iron where we get into caste because of birth. It was more by the profession that we used to get caste. Slowly it happened that as the profession starting running across generation because it was but obvious that person will get more knowledge of the profession in which his parents are in and will also develop taste for it. Thus the profession became hereditary and in the way caste. It was later part when because of the bad implementation and selfish motive hard lines were drawn among castes and original essence was lost.

Similar is true for reservations:

In India reservation was and is used to please some people and get quick votes, be it SC&ST provisions in constitution which was originally meant for 15 years or implementation of Mandal commission after its lying in cold storage for years. There are many aspects of reservation. It is fact there are some strata of society who need support to rise from their current status of poverty or backwardness. Not all of us who have not seen deprived life know they really know what a backward person faces in her/his life.
However there is opposition for reservation because the benefit of it is are not going to actual people rather they are taken up by some people of these society who are already in upper class whereas actual needy people are still at the same place. No one will object if a really needy get the benefit, Most of people are furious since it is someone who is not needy who is reaping benefit.

So basically I think the protest should not be there for reservations or caste system but against the wrong connotation that these things have acquired and protest to restore back the original good intention of these.

That is a very good point. It is easier and less catastrophic some times to un-build some thing that has been in place brick by brick rather than blowing up the whole thing all at once.

I don't think caste systems will ever be totally eliminated. They have always existed in one form or another overtly or covertly in every country of the world since time began. Male\female, rich\poor, strong\weak, few\many, one color\another color, one religion\another religion, one political belief\another political belief and every subgroup imaginable. It's human nature to organize and classify. It's not always a good thing, but there you are it will always be with us.

Caste system has been there for ages .. hence protesting against that will be difficult .. but reservations are just a few decades old and without much numbers to prove its success .. it should hv been easier to protest .. but a few people in the Govt.. desperately want a few vote banks to support them .. Hence the reservation system ...

I AM AGAINST RESERVATION .. AS WELL AS DIVIDING PEOPLE BASED ON CASTE..

Utterly rubbish. Why this reservation is not applied in every walks of life, including the government, judiciary, bureaucracy, sports, business, media, military etc. Why the educational field only?
Reservation if at all allowed, it should be economical point only.
By reservation, is it not the discrimination?

the worse is the reservation of seats. That cast is shown that you are given special previlages because you belong to that particular cast. And again the cast system prevails in a leglised manner

reservation of seats for the poor is what going to help. there r people who r from lower caste but rich and affluent. they still exploit reserved seats
