This is a thinly traded stock, probably a penny stock with low volume and low institutional interest, if at all.

Sure, you can always raise your bid, but you're going to have to do just the opposite when you want out, that is, lower your selling price. You're going to get hit in both directions.

This is why nobody trades a thin-volume stock.

Anyone with a million dollars can pump it or dump it.

Market makers are required to post both a bid and an ask. If you don't see the ask -- perhaps you are looking in the wrong place.
