I think that's a myth. I did watch a documentary on elephants though that showed that their feet are extremely sensitive and they are very careful at what they step on, so maybe that's how the myth started.

I don,t think they are , an Elephant I know was walking in the Jungle when he came upon a mouse sitting on a Log, "Hello" sqeeked the mouse , the Elephant looked the mouse and said "Ain,t you small ?" the mouse looked up and said "Yeah I,ve just been sick" they then went of to the Pub together, the Elephant had half a Shandy , the mouse had ten pints of guiness -- youv,e guessed it - the mouse was sick again

elephants aren't actually afraid of mice they are actually afraid of really quick movements.so a word of warning dont run in front of an elephant lol :O)

While this is a myth, it was based upon the thought that elephants were concerned the mouse would run inside their trunk, and suffocate them.
