Absolutely.
My dad spoke to me in a dream and told me he was OK, and at peace. It was the most amazing thing that ever happened to me.

No. Jesus was very clear on that point in the story of the rich man and Lazarus. The one time it happened in history, when Saul asked the witch of Endor to summon up Samuel, the fact that his calling him at all was unnatural was made very plain. Also was made plain that the witch didn't expect Samuel to come. And also was plain that Saul had broken a sacred boundary and God had permitted it only for his own purposes.
None of those purposes spoke good to Saul, and the witch was terrified.

Jesus essentially told the rich man that there was no reason for the dead to return to the living as the living have wht they need without that, and if what is available in this life is not enough, then contact with the dead would avail them nothing.

If a spirit is posing as a loved one, then you can bet your potatoes he's an evil spirit, and just don't go there. It can get you in all kinds of trouble.

Yes, I do believe that people you are connected to in this life can contact you when they have passed on. I have had several instances in my life where I have been contacted by my dead relatives - sometimes just to basically say they love me, and are watching out for me, and sometimes to tell me to be careful or
watch out. It's not a scary thing, just a reassuring thing that people are just on a different level than we are, but that we still
stay connected even though they have passed on.

To me, it is a wonderful thing to have this connection. It usually happens when I am asleep, or when I am focused on something else, and my brain is kind of disengaged - I think that is when they can easily make that connection.

I have even been awakened by my grandmother telling me to go check the front door - and sure enough it was unlocked! Anyway - people can think of me what they will - I believe!

No. They have gone beyond the veil of life. The divide is so great between the spirit world and the physical world that nothing there is comparable to the things we are aware of here. The part of us that is "spirit" can perceive the presence of those on the other side. However, they do not have conversations with us, tap us on the shoulders or trip us because those are things which require physical attributes. It is possible that they may become perceptible in a more physical sense to those who are near death and who are about to cross over.

I had a car accident. I had a near death experience; my spirit raised to the roof of the car, and I saw my body lying across the seats. Suddenly I saw my uncle, who was dead and I had not thought about in 10 years. Only his face was visible and truly dimensional. As quickly as he came he was gone. They pumped adrenaline into my heart, and I woke up 2 days later. The paramedics had pronounced me dead.
I do believe the spirit lives on.

Yes, we have had a few instances of that in our family where people have seen ghosts, had dreams of people then found out they had died, or other weird things have happened that just make you think, 'ooh, eerie!'
I like to believe that as it is a comfort to know that the link between people you love isn't severed just because they have died. I'm catholic raised though so I have the whole guilt complex thing to deal with so I see this comforter as my reward for feeling like everything I do is seen by HIM!!!!

why dont we concentrate on the living for a moment
right before my dad died, he told me that he 'saw' members of his family, in his bedroom, and he felt that it must have been a reaction to the drugs he had been taking for a stroke he had. My father was absolutely a realist who did not believe in heaven or hell or ghosts or anything 'invisible'. It was very hard for him to tell me about seeing his dead family members and I am the only person in my family that he did tell. (I am very interested in spiritual realities)
I read recently that the worst part about drugging the elderly is that it prevents them from having 'deathbed visions' like my father had. I can assure you he was not under the influence of drugs at the time, even though he was willing to deny his own experience it had been weeks since he had the drugs.
l feel closer to my dad now than I did in the months before he died, mostly because he could barely talk after a series of even more severe strokes, and I talk to him every day.
does he answer me? I like to think so, but who knows, maybe I am imagining it, like my dad thought he had imagined seeing his dead sisters and brother.
