What do you think the families next step should be to find out what happened to their beloved, sweet, brilliant daughter - Natalee Ann Holloway who disappeared on May 30, 2005?

Dismissing the suit was the only legal option for the judge. New York had no jurisdiction over this case at all. Natalie lived in Alabama, and the Van der Sloots lived in Aruba. The alleged (because there is still no proof that a crime occured) crime happened in Aruba.

I think the case was filed in New York for publicity purposes only. New York is one of the largest media markets in the world, and would generate the most publicity.

The proper jurisdiction for this suit was in Aruba. If Natalie's family wanted to file a suit in the US, the only possible jurisdiction MIGHT have been Alabama. That suit would also be dismissed, however, because there is no evidence that the Van der Sloots did anything in Alabama.

I hope the family finds out what happened to their daughter, and that the responsible party is punished severely.

i think he was right in dismissing, why should another state pay for the goings on of such a legal issue that could be drawn out for years at that states taxpayers expense. apparently she wasnt as "brilliant" as people claim she was or she wouldnt have gone alone with those boys that night. i am afraid that finding out what happened to her wil be fruitless, they should just accept the fact that she is gone. i know it sounds cold and callous, but that is not my intent. my theory is she went with those boys to the other side of the island, they got their worlds rocked, they left her on the beach, she passed out, woke up later, was disoriented, went for a swim to try to get her bearings straight and drowned. we just cam back from aruba about 3 weeks ago, the side where the hotels are, the water is much calmer than the other side. what i have found strange tho, is that every time a name is announced, someone always pops off with "he is the one that did it, he knows what happened to her". honestly, i dont think anybody knows what happened to her.

those are females who do not admire themselves and are quite desperate. They shouldn't reproduce from now on than van der Sloot. If that's what you like, then sure, cope with them undesirable. in case you like a classic, loving dating, admire your self and others.
