A hermit, maybe, but not a hobo. Drinking is not exactly a worthwhile 24/7 activity for me.

I'd like to be a hermit just so that I won't have to pay taxes that do not help myself or the other working people who pay almost all the taxes. Our taxes cover the filthy rich who do not pay taxes, or at least nothing at all like their fair share. Taxes are used to pay for a congress and a senate that constantly go against the will of the people in order to better themselves and their sponsors, which is a never-ending vicious cycle in which we're always at the bottom. Our taxes go to bombs and wars that will cause more problems and insecurity rather than helping to make us more secure. Taxes go to a Big Business that poisons our air, food, water, and soil while constantly moving our best jobs overseas. I could go on and on and on.

I'd like to be a hermit purely for morally-responsible and ethical reasons until our gov't learns to once again act in our best interests instead of always pandering to their Golden Calves and causing instability. Only the Scum of the Earth profits by causing instability at home and abroad, and most of the taxes and our own money go to that Scum in one way or another, Scum who profit by and thrive on creating nothing but Sheer Misery and Torture, sometimes slow, sometimes very, very fast.

That's the only way in America you can stop giving your money to evil people who hurt your brothers and sisters and sons and daughters, and who make all our lives into small or large hells, to simply be a content hermit and earn no income, to just live off the land. That is a fantasy that I will follow someday, probably very, very soon.

All Adam needs is an Eve and I'm there. We can have the Garden of Eden back anytime we want to. I'm ready to frolic naked and have my three biggest worries be if the beans and corn are getting enough sunlight, if four-to-six hours a day is enough work, and if Eve will be generous tonight.

Naw. he fantasy is always better then the reality. There is nothing anywhere that will solve problems. The only thing there is is try like hell to avoid numbing yourself to reality by using substances or sex or something else addictive and temporary..then you have the same probs plus you are a slave to some inanimate object or immaterial condition. Sad but true

I thought about it. Maybe not a hobo per se, but hitchiking around, doing odd jobs when I ran out of money, that kind of thing.

as much as it might be nice to think at times that the grass could be greener on the other side of the fence, try living it once for real, I am quite sure that it would be kind of a crappy existence, I know I would never want to live that way

I have thought about this scenario a few times. Our city has a great shelter and movie nights on Tuesdays and Bingo on Wednesdays and free cloths on thursday...

What a life!
