Consider for a moment that you had two slaves. You wanted one of them to bake you a cake. Consider all the steps that go into baking a cake, mixing all the ingredients, not making a mess, preheating the oven just right, not burning down the house. Now you see how something like baking is actually more complex than what you would think. Would you rather have a slave that is a mindless drone, whom you would have to order constantly to make sure your cake was baked properly. Or would you rather have one that had some capacity of though and free will, one that can make some decisions on its own and improvise when necessary?

If you had a slave, why the F*** would you have them baking cakes?
I got lawn that needs to be mowed, hedges that need trimming, and balls that need polishing...
Anyway though - you are likely going to spend just as much time directing the dumb slave as you would trying to ensure that the smart slave doesn't get the best of you.
Keep in mind, the kitchen where the baking is going on ALSO has knives and other possible weapons in it.
It would be more intelligent to simply invest the time in the dumb slave knowing that the cake will be made right, BUT, you don't have to worry about the dumb slave trying to kill you and escape.
BTW...slavery is immorral.
If you take a close look at those in power over others, you will see one common theme among them:
In order to keep people under you subservient, obedient and tame, you must keep them within MARGINS.
Margins can be financial, social or political.
If these people never break free of their margins, they will never be a threat to your dominance over them.
There is no better margin than ignorance.
Poverty, disease, famine and every other plague on man encompasses Ignorance.
The Dumb Slave is the one to go with.
Why do you think African slaves brought to America were stripped of their languages and denied the ability to read and write under penalty of death?
As soon as African American slaves broke free of these margins, you fast forward to 2006 and you have a "Condoleeza Rice" as Secretary of State.

Your question demonstrates your ignorance. A slave cannot possibly have "free will," as that is counter to the entire concept. Further, you refer to a slave as an "it," not a man, woman or child, which perpetuates the idea that slaves are property, not human beings. Do some reading.

I would rather have the one with thought and free will. Who would want a cement block with a chain around your ankle, which is what the mindless drone would be to me. I have little patience.
